Brand 2.0 has Been Launched
October 2024 Newsletter
This month has kept us busy with outreach events and design progress! We recently launched our Brand 2.0 on Instagram. We are aiming to keep our brand image consistent with new fonts, colors, and themes; check it out!
The UC Davis Involvement Fair occurred on October 9th on the Memorial Union Quad. Along with many other clubs, we recruited a lot of new members for this season. Our successful recruitment season has led us to secure 177 active members this year! Thanks to everyone who showed an interest in our team!
Our Middle Design Review took place on October 12th and 13th. We got a ton of amazing feedback, and our design is being finalized!
This month, the College of Engineering hosted the Celebration of Gratitude to thank all donors for their support. Some of our leads attended this event to share their love of engineering and highlight its importance at UC Davis. Our car was even displayed at the event!
Another important outreach event this month was Maker Faire. This annual Bay Area event is an amazing opportunity for entrepreneurs and inventors to share their projects and passions with the Northern California community. We shared the importance of electric vehicles and sustainable energy at this event to inspire young students to learn more!
In addition to the many recruitment and outreach events this month, our team also made great progress in not only the design process but the manufacturing process as well. Our unsprung subteams are getting ready to freeze their CAD design along with the chassis subteam, which is finishing coordination on packaging with other subteams. The composites subteam is beginning to test materials and has finished routing out airfoil molds for the front and rear wings.
All subteams are working hard to get the materials they need like the motor resolver and suspension tubes. To help us fund these builds, check out the November crowdfund, Falling into Gear. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far!
Let’s keep this momentum going because there’s so much to look forward to in November! We can’t wait to see the final CAD freezes from all our subteams, and keep an eye out for our Final Design Review, taking place November 16th-17th.
