Preparing for Competition

May 2025 Newsletter

As the school year draws to a close and competition approaches quickly, our team has been putting in the hours to ensure everything runs smoothly.

In Unsprung, the wheel package manufacturing is finally complete and final adjustments have been made in order to get it on the car.

Aerodynamics’ carbon fiber elements have been printed!  Check out the footage below of some rotational angular sensor mounts being manufactured on the CNC machine. These sensors will be used to gather data on the behaviour of the car’s suspension.

Electrical has been hard at work finishing the wiring harness, connecting all parts of the car’s electrical systems. All low voltage systems are working properly and the high voltage system, used to power the motor, is active and ready for further tweaks to make it fully drivable.

In Chassis news, the torsion testing jig is fully assembled and testing has been conducted. The welding on it is finished, so check out a short video of that process below!

With graduations coming to a close, Operations has hosted an end-of-year banquet for all subteams to bond, eat, and celebrate our time together making FE12 possible. Congratulations to all our graduating seniors!

We look forward to the car being finally complete, and all of us here cannot wait for the trip to competition! Thank you, everyone, for all your hard work!
