Applications for the 2026-2027 Season are currently open for summer recruitment. Here's how the process works:

Overview:

FRUCD has transitioned to an application-based model which includes a written application but no interviews. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with decisions provided one week after the applicant meets all requirements.

Timeline:
Summer Recruitment
  • Applications Open: July 18th, 2026
  • Applications Close: August 17th, 2026 - Day after Preliminary Design Review (PDR)
Fall Quarter Recruitment
  • Applications Open: September 23rd, 2026 - First day of instruction
  • Application Closes: December 6th, 2026 - Sunday before Fall Quarter Finals
Application Process:
  1. Check out our new recruits presentation and info session to learn about this year's team.
  2. Join our Discord, follow us on Instagram to learn more about each subteam and its projects, and stay engaged with our team!
  3. Apply to one or more subteams that align with your interests.
    • There are two application forms, one for our technical subteams and another for our Business & Finance subteam. There are no restrictions on applying to both forms. Each application includes basic personal information, any previous relevant experience, and your preferred subteam(s).
  4. Team leads will post announcements through Discord to inform subteam meetings.
    • New recruits must attend at least one subteam meeting and one general meeting for their application to be considered.
      • General meeting attendance is only required for fall applicants, as there are no general meetings during summer.
  5. Within one week of attending the meeting(s), you'll be emailed by a team lead with one of the following decisions (if no response is provided, follow up on Discord).
    • Acceptance letter: This will include further onboarding instructions.
    • Rejection letter: This will include feedback and potential recommendations for other subteams.
    • Extension letter: If a team lead needs more time to make a decision, the applicant will be notified of an extended decision date.
After Acceptance:

Upon acceptance, you’ll be required to complete the following steps:

  • Pay $75 annual member dues.
  • Collect your team's welcome gift!
    • Applicable to all members, gifts will be passed out in fall quarter.
  • Join the team’s Google Drive.
  • Join the team's GitHub (if applicable).
  • Gain "Member" role on Discord.
Rejection and Reapplication:

If you are rejected from a subteam, don’t sweat it! We encourage applicants to apply to multiple subteams and reapply during the next recruitment cycle.

Returning Members:

Members are required to reapply each year regardless of team status. This ensures fairness and consistency for all students in the recruitment process.
