Halfway through Design Phase!
August 2024 Newsletter
This past month we’ve made the important decision to make data-driven designs the teamwide focus of how we run things here at FRUCD. We are taking full advantage of last season’s data to create a lighter, faster, and more efficient car. Our teamwide efforts ensure that data analysis improves design concepts as efficiently as possible.
Original conceptual designs were presented on August 17th and reviewed by alumni and advisors. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and provide invaluable feedback. This marks us as halfway through the design phase, and we can’t wait to see what comes next. You can view recordings of the design review here!
Looking ahead, September is full of exciting events in Formula. Keep an eye on our Instagram for updates! On September 27th from approximately 10 am to 2 pm, our Sponsor Track Day is taking place off campus. Look out for a carpool sheet soon if you are interested but need a ride. Food will be provided to all attendees (while supplies last). All are welcome, and we look forward to meeting everyone interested in racing!

The College of Engineering club fair will take place on September 20th on Bainer Lawn at 10 am. This is a great opportunity to learn about all engineering clubs including FRUCD! Come to meet people with similar interests and goals!
One event that has already passed at the time of posting this article was the preliminary design review on September 14th and 15th. This Zoom meeting was highly productive and provided us with so much constructive and actionable feedback.
You can view a recording of this event here
We look forward to what the rest of September will bring in both design and recruitment events!
